Now in its 31st year, the Jazz in July Festival—directed by Bill Charlap and presented by the 92nd Street Y Jewish cultural and community center—offers a series of jazz and swing music, with six concerts planned over the course of 10 days. Opening night features two generations of jazz musicians, while subsequent performance highlights include Ernie Andrews taking on Duke Ellington, Kurt Elling singing the classics of Frank Sinatra, and pianists Charlap and Renee Rosnes offering renditions of Sondheim.
