St. Regis Hotels & Resorts share the latest news and exclusive offerings for the winter.

The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort
Rum at RemèdeWhen visiting the “rum capital of the world,” guests of The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort would be remiss not to indulge in a one-of-a-kind experience featuring the full-flavored spirit. But rather than tasting, the resort’s Remède Spa entices guests to enjoy a Puerto Rican rum by utilizing other senses with the newly introduced Encanto Rum Massage.

After guests travel across the floating walkway into a secluded massage villa, the spa treatment begins with a foot polish before transitioning into a full-body relaxation massage. Complete with hand-selected massage oils blended with indigenous Isla del Encanto rum, the massage targets the four senses that don’t typically enjoy rum’s warming effect, all the while focusing on releasing any stress out into the spa’s fire garden below. The Encanto Rum Massage runs 60 or 90 minutes and is available to all guests 18 and older for an enchanting island spa experience.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort
Explore the Bal Harbour Bar

Director of food and beverage Guntram Merl says The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort is at the crossroads between the East Coast and Latin America, and with a recent reinvention, The St. Regis Bar & Wine Vault is no exception, to say the least.

The cocktail lounge provides a welcoming setting for guests to indulge in a drink and some light food with 14 new high-top tables surrounded by plush furniture that offers an intimate atmosphere for pairs and groups alike. Just around the corner in the Wine Vault, three high-top tables house an engaging wine tasting experience—but the experience doesn’t stop there. The outside terrace has transformed into intimate space with amber low-lighting illuminating the seating area. Guests can enjoy one of the St. Regis’ signature cocktails, featuring flavors that Merl attributes to South America.

Complementing the newly decorated space is an updated tapas-style menu, offering a fusion of two exotic cuisines  Blending exotic Japanese and Peruvian ingredients, Merl says the new dishes will include sushi and sashimi, which will be served in a contemporary, elegant manner.

“The overall concept of the bar is making a move towards a kind of loosely defined Asian influence,” Merl explains.

The St. Regis Aspen Resort
A Bespoke Addition

In September, The St. Regis Aspen Resort inducted Heather Steenge-Hart into its all-star team as general manager. Steenge-Hart brings a wealth of senior experience and a longstanding loyalty to Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Beginning her career in 1991 at The Westin Harbour Castle in her native Toronto, Steenge-Hart rose through the ranks and worked across a vast portfolio of properties, joining other Westin hotels such as The Westin Bayshore Hotel in downtown Vancouver, The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and The Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel. In 2006 she was appointed the general manager of the W Chicago Lakeshore Hotel, and three years later acquired the W Chicago City Center Hotel under her management.

Steenge-Hart joins The St. Regis Aspen Resort at a very exciting time. The resort has recently undergone a comprehensive $40 million redesign by award-winning designer Lauren Rottet to reinforce its international reputation as a leading New World destination resort. Last June, the resort also debuted the Chefs Club by FOOD & WINE, an inspired restaurant concept that features a select group of the magazine’s Best New Chefs to design a menu of seasonal cuisine. The chefs will make appearances intermittently at the resort to showcase their concept to guests, residents and the local community.

Steenge-Hart hopes to maintain the resort’s “innovative momentum” behind these new developments throughout the course of her tenure. Of this new chapter in her career, Steenge-Hart says, “I am honored to lead such a distinguished luxury property in a community that speaks to my lifestyle.”

The St. Regis Houston
Tea Tradition With New EleganceAfternoon tea has always been a timeless tradition, dating back to the mid-1840s. At The St. Regis Houston, this tradition lives on with style and elegance that is difficult to top, especially with the hotel’s redesigned reception area and Tea Lounge, a project by the award-winning design firm ForrestPerkins.

Boasting the traditional warmth of the St. Regis brand with the distinctive Texas theme of “boots and diamonds,” the redecorated Tea Lounge features a sparkling two-tiered Venetian glass pendant in the entry foyer as well as a beautifully iridescent golden glow throughout the space. Within the lounge itself, a custom fireplace surrounded by warm cocoa-colored marble sits as part of The St. Regis Houston Signature Library, in addition to the rest of the modernized arrangement fashioned with refined craftsmanship.

At the Tea Lounge, guests have the experience of savoring the English cuisine made up of a traditional menu of petit fours, tea sandwiches, scones and England-imported Devonshire cream while sipping on a plethora of artisan tea blends as well as the special St. Regis Blend. Guests will also be granted impeccable, paramount butler-style service while listening to the soothing melodies of the harpist who performs during service at the Tea Lounge.

Within this elegant yet intimate atmosphere, it’s not difficult for guests to sit back and appreciate the finer things in life with their choice of relaxing morning coffee, artisan afternoon tea or indulgent evening cocktails.
